Rick Cambrell

Rick comes from a background of 30 years working with people who are hurting, more than half of this time with an international mission agency. He has worked extensively, both in Australia and overseas with families, and people of all ages dealing with issues of transition, grief and loss, stress, anger, family of origin, self-esteem, identity, addiction, relationships, abuse and trauma. A warm, calm grandfather, Rick is ideal in difficult situations and has a particular interest in inter-family relationships and couple counselling.

Dominie Nelson

A creative counsellor with a sensitive soul and quirky sense of humour, Dominie is dedicated to helping people reach their potential. Dominie’s training and experience equip her to work as a counsellor and psychotherapist with anxiety and stress, depression and self esteem, and a multiplicity of relationship issues, and includes specialist training in addiction, trauma and abuse. In recent years Dominie has specialised in working with victims of trauma. She has experienced great success, including work with clients who engage in self harming behaviour. Married to Steve and with three adult children, Dominie’s life experiences include extensive study in counselling and psychology, and establishing and managing a church-based community counselling service. As a counsellor, supervisor and lecturer in interpersonal and counselling skills with Life Design Counselling and Education, Dominie’s desire is to see every individual achieve satisfaction in life and relationships.

Rob Salmon

Rob is well respected for his relational style and multi-faceted abilities in the workplace. After running his own counselling practice for several years, Rob joined the Life Design Counselling team in July 2007. Coming from a dysfunctional family of origin, Rob has used his own journey to help develop a greater understanding of the issues facing people today. He has extensive experience working with men in both individual and group settings providing insight and tools for change. Rob also has extensive experience working with couples in pre-marriage counselling as well as working through a variety of relationship issues.

Liz Worley

Liz Worley is a Professional Counsellor whose goal is to use proven research and skills in a safe counselling environment to help individuals, couples and groups discover new skills and strategies to improve the quality of their lives and their relationships.
Liz is married and a parent of four adults. She has experience in rural health care delivery, early intervention, community health education, school counselling and parent workshops and she has worked as a Family Counsellor in the disability field. Her goal is to deliver evidence based, ethical, caring, client focused, confidential counselling or group training services in a relaxed and safe environment.
Liz uses an integrative approach and has a special interest in relationship and family counselling and the role Attachment plays in all relationships and self image. She is currently undergoing certification in Attachment Profile Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. This interest is explored with a holistic approach, recognising that mental wellbeing and self image are affected by physical and spiritual health. Liz often takes a team approach, working with other heath professionals such as the client’s GP to help her clients achieve their goals.

Brian Gabriels

Brian has worked in the caring profession for 25 years. He has a high level of personal warmth, empathy, understanding and a sincere concern for people. Brian works from the premise that each client is a unique human being and for this reason creatively fashions counselling intervention strategies that respect individual uniqueness.

Having lived and worked in 4 countries Karen has a passion for helping people from other cultures and an understanding of the challenges that cross-cultural workers face, including anxiety, identity issues, worries about finances, relationships, and maintaining emotional and spiritual health under duress. Widowed at an early age, she has grappled with many issues of grief and loss. Her experience as a pastor’s wife, hospital chaplain, pastoral care giver, and current study as a Spiritual Director have equipped her to offer a warm, safe and supportive place to explore life’s issues.
Dorothy Crosby

Dorothy came to Australia from the UK 25 years ago and worked as a nurse in a variety of health settings. She and her husband have travelled and lived in many countries before returning and settling back in Adelaide with their 3 daughters.This has given Dorothy a global perspective that helps her connect sensitively with people from other cultures. Having experienced a neonatal loss with their second child has also profoundly shaped and influenced Dorothys' life. This has led Dorothy to be passionate about helping people adjust from tradgedy and rebuild their lives. She is actively involved in pastoral ministry and is a creative,warm and compassionate counsellor.
